Guidelines

Outstanding research projects by students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs in the field of data infrastructure for condensed-matter physics, chemistry, and materials science at a university or research institution are eligible for funding. The amount of funding to be awarded is determined by the selection committee and is based on the results of the review of the submitted documents.

The costs incurred for conference as well as trips to universities or research institutions as a visiting scholar, can be subsidized. The amount is determined based on the actual travel costs incurred. The trip is billed in accordance with the Federal Travel Expenses Act.

Application

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Description of the research project
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Statement from the supervising university lecturer
  • For travel grants, also: Justification of the necessity and importance of the trip, abstract/poster

The selection committee reviews applications within one month of receiving all the necessary documents. The decision is based on a scientific evaluation of the application.
Funding is disbursed after all the necessary documents have been submitted.
